MAIN STORY.
The creators of DS9 have announced that they are going to stop the regular DS9 shows from being made, and replace them with a bigger better show. The creators are planning a big, no huge war with the Dominion in which for once the federation lose, apparently the federation in one battle send in 112 ships to stop the dominion advance but in the end it turns out they fuel it with 98 of the ships being destroyed, thats two times tan that of the battle at wolf 359, also when the crew are forced to abandon DS9 they go out on the lookout for surviving federation ships and whilst there doing this they dock at a star base and are decommissioned- the defiant is taken off them- but its for the better as the crew are then given the Dominion ship captured in the great battle. With the federation and all other races pulling back and taking heavy losses the outcome is grim but there is to be a clever twist and several more seasons to come..........
B5 is back.
TNT have renewed B5 for a fifth season and possibly several films so lets give it for the almighty JMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Voyagers new Borg babe.
Voyagers writers have stressed that the new Borg in the crew is not there to be a sex symbol she's there to add a hint of danger and to introduce some cleverly twisting storylines.
B5 star praises show.
Garibaldi who has being playing his darker side in season 4 has expressed his feelings about his charicter-he said he liked him and enjoys playing his darker side but he does want to try to maintain some of his old self like his lack of ability to take things seriously and his eagerness to take things personally.
Frakes as director again.
Frakes has signed on for the new Star Trek Movie to play Cmdr. Riker and to direct, everyone has been impressed with his directing in the past, and he is expected to start work in March '98.

Data wants more.
That lovable yet logical android data (Brent Spinner) has been offered a measly $3 million to appear in the new Star Trek movie in which we see a side of him that we might not take a liking to. In comparison Patrick Stewart (Captain Picard) has been offered $12 million. So in light of his big part we don't think $3 million is enough for our beloved android and neither does he so he is asking for $5 million...... 5 million? what kind of advance on 3 is that?
Late news just in today, we have heard that Data has accepted an offer for $5 million plus bonuses that come to somewhere in the region of $1 million.
You cannot kill the X-Files.
Creator of the X-Files Chris Carter has come back to do seasons 6 and 7 after being payed big bucks the new searies is set to be better and gorier than ever.
Red-Dwarf is delayed.
The BBC ha said that rumors that the show was being filmed this october were totaly false and that Red Dwarf will not be filmed untill next febuary so its an even longer wait for the next eight than for the last eight.
Low raitings as usual.
Sci-fi shows accross the board have been getting low raitings B 5, Voyager, DS9, ST:TNG , TOS & Red dwarf have all had recent raitings below 3.5 Million even though TNG, TOS & Red Dwarf are repeats you would expect more than 1 in 20 people to watch them, the only two Sci-fi’s that got good raitings was the extreamly funny Third rock from the sun which at present is getting over 5.5 million viewers thats about 1 in 12 people watching it and the X-Files getting somewhere in the region of 10 mill veiwers.
B5 to end in 20 years.
The Creater of B5 J. Michael Straczynski has said that B5’s fifth season will take place 20 years after the 4th presumably this is because Lorien, THE first one said sheraden only has 20 years to live. The fifth season has been given the buget and is currently being filmed to show in Britain in late next year. There has also been alot of demand for a second story arc, well now that the First ones have gone and now that the Shadows Assistants the Drak etc.. are on the way out and Eath force is about to be done over, he will have to start from scratch. But thats what he's good at.
Dark Skys may not be gone.
We have herd a whisper that Dark Skys is going on into several more seasons and 9 feature films--This may or may not be true we do not know but we will by next issue.
